He was predeceased by: his mother Carla Nelson (Swanson); and his grandfathers, Harry Nelson (Fern) and Ray Swanson (Myrtle). He is survived by: his father Paul Nelson of Florida; his wife Carol Nelson; his children, Isaac and Anja Nelson; his siblings, Chris Nelson (Cori), Ben Pearson-Nelson (Julie) of Virginia, Rebekah Isbacke (Bjorn) of Sweden, Chip Pearson (Amy) of St. Paul, MN and Kate Pearson (Annie) of Maplewood, MN; and his aunts, Jerry Swanson (Kristina) of Willmar, MN and Muriel Hurdle (Walter). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Roger Maris Cancer Center, or Dilworth Lutheran Church.
