She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Nyland and Lillian Nyland (Harvala); her spouse Merl Mitchell; her son Dudley; her daughter-in-law Charlotte Gjersvig; her daughter Julie Burhans; her stepsons, Bruce Mitchell and Robert Mitchell; and her siblings, Norman Nyland, Edwin Nyland, Viola Wald and Mickey Berg.
She is survived by: her former spouse Elden Gjersvig; her sons, Robert Gjersvig (Susan) of Detroit Lakes, MN and James Gjersvig (Susan) of Detroit Lakes, MN; her son-in-law Steve Burhans; her stepdaughter Carolyn Fox (Charles) of Mankato, MN; her siblings, Wally Nyland, Earl Nyland, Allen Nyland, Jerry Nyland, Elvie Zitzow and Lois Mitchell; and her sisters-in-law, Margie Johnson and Kathy Nyland. She is also survived by seven step grandchildren; many step great grandchildren.
