He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Smedshammer and Signe Smedshammer. He is survived by: his wife Diane Schmidt; his children, Jason, Joel (Andrea), Jill Stakemiller and Jodi Turney (Glenn); and his siblings, Don (Reba) and Grace Dunham. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
