He is survived by: his spouse Carol Haavig; his parents, Robert and Jean; his siblings, Richard, Muriel Hall, Mary Lou Miller and Terry (Violet) of Excelsior, MN; and his children, Peggy Haugen (Randy) of Noorwood, ND, Daniel (Janice) of Newport, NC and Douglas (Sarah) of Brooklyn Park, MN. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandsons, one great-great granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
