We are sad to announce that on December 26, 2020, at the age of 88, Phyllis McLeod of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, born in Fargo, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Parnell Smeby and Evelyn Smeby; her husband Elton "Sonny" McLeod; her sister Marilyn "Sis" Smith (Smeby); her children, Brian (Verlene) of Detroit Lakes, Mitchell (Sheila) of Detroit Lakes, Joel "Tater" (Lisa) of Detroit Lakes, Brenda Kurtti (Dean) of Maple Grove, MN and Rhonda Heinen (Joel) of Castle Rock, CO; her grandchildren, Matthew McLeod (Cary), Brett McLeod, Connor McLeod (Lexi), Austin Kurtti, Aaron Kurtti, Kirk McLeod, Chynna Rae Heinen, Kai McLeod, Chase Heinen, Rena McLeod, Tony McLeod and Jordan McLeod; her stepgrandchildren, Taylor, Luke and Jake Morgan; and her great grandchildren, Aubrielle, Emily, Katie and Alaina. She was also cherished by cousins, nieces, extended family, and many friends.
Due to continuing COVID-19 concerns, funeral services will be held at a later date.
