He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Thielen and Theresa Thielen; his wife Janice Novak; his children, Laurie Hansen (Rob) of Loveland, CO, Patty Paulus of Bismarck, ND, Joanne Huckle (Tim) of Wickenburg, AZ, Gary Thielen (Jane) of Waite Park, MN and Ron Thielen of Sarasota, FL; and his brother Harold of Paynesville, MN.. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was very active in the Fargo-Moorhead community and served on the Boards of the Moorhead Chamber of Commerce, United Way, F-M Travel and Convention Bureau and the Moorhead State University Foundation.
