With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lois Joanne Thelen (Detroit Lakes, Minnesota), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on May 10, 2022 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lois Joanne Thelen to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her son-in-law Steve Piemonte. She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Murray (Patrick), Beth Piemonte and Brenda Thelen; her grandchildren, Flynn Murray of Bozeman, MT and Casey Murray of Four Corners, MT.; and her brother Robert Gouldin Sturgis (Buzzy). She is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of Red River valley and the Alzheimer's Association.

“I’m so sorry to hear of Lois’s passing. She was a great lady and a role model for many people I remember when she bought her car. I loved it Then she was in my Investment Club. She always dressed up and looked very fashionable! We used go over to your house for supper, and Doug would have a fit because Lois let the dog eat off the plates. One time he bought a paper plate. Lois was so nice when I started teaching at the HS. She bought me a big flower. I will miss her very much.”
