Leatrice Arlene left this world on December 21, 2024 at the age of 101, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Leatrice Arlene may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leatrice Arlene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Joy and Thora Joy (Thorson); her husband Donald Louis Wirtz; and her siblings, William Joy, Wilbur Joy and Eileen Henderson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ronald Joy and Natalie Bellefeuille; and her sister-in-law Lois Joy. She is also survived by her 8 children, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (1043 Lake Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501). A Mass will be held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
