He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kirchner and Alvina Kirchner (Trappen); and his siblings, Gary Kirchner and Jean Kirchner. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Balthazar Saint, Hai Kirchner, Christina Stone of Thornton, CO, Kiki Christina, Travares, Atticus, Harper, Balthazar Saint Tillman of Arvada, CO, Phil, Nicole, Maycen, Madilyn and Grady Kirchner of Detroit Lakes, MN; his sister Jerry Kostreba of Rice, MN; his sister-in-law Rose Kirchner of St. Cloud, MN; and his brother Craig Kirchner of St. Cloud, MN. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be made in Grandpa John's honor to Homes for Our Troops (http://www.hfotusa.org), the local VFW or the local Legion.
