We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2022, at the age of 63, James William Pihlaja of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Pihlaja and Dorothy Pihlaja (Jellum); and his nephew Adam Pihlaja. He is survived by: his daughter Dorothy; his wife Cathy Pihlaja (George); his child Charlie Pihlaja; and his siblings, Sharon Pihlaja (Haspel) and Duane. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
