He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Haney and Gladys Bell Haney; his wife Theresa; his daughter Catherine Ann; and his sister Joan Witt.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Haney Jr. (Bonnie) of Moorhead, Mary Haney of Detroit Lakes and Elizabeth (Reza Maleki) of West Fargo; his grandchildren, Zebulon Haney (Wendy) of Deephaven, Gabriel Haney (Katie) of Moorhead, Gregory Haney of Fargo, Samir Maleki (Brianna) of Boise Idaho, Jamil Maleki (Jessica) of West Fargo and Hananeh Saedi (Marcus Davis) of Eagan; his great grandchildren, Seamus, Aoife, Catherine, Zoe Haney, Izabella, Karelina, Rae, Anna Haney, Gregory Haney and Saoirse Maleki; his siblings, Greg Haney (Jeannine) of Wever, David Haney (Jayne) of Papillion, NE and Sharon Winther of Norfolk, NE; and his sister-in-law Mary Lally of Denison, IA.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
