He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Nansen and Pearl Nansen; his spouse Floy Metschke; his children, Mark Nansen, Gary Nansen (Darcy), Paul Nansen, Julie Astell (Guy) and Sheryl Menden (Rick); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Wilken (Kevin), Brett Nansen (Jen), Amy Pederson (Josh), Erica Nansen, Jesse Menden (Jenni), Jason Menden (Helen), Jonathan Menden (Brittney), Amber Menden and Chris Astell. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Tunnel to Towers to support military families.
