He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Maurer and Fred Maurer; his wife Jean; his grandson Dana Jacobson; and his siblings, Leona Edwards, Beatrice Reeves, Bill, Arnold, Elfrieda Billgren, Earl, Ferdinand and Helen Counard.
He is survived by: his former wife Jeannine Halvorson; his children, Glenda Jacobson of Fargo, Garwin (Kimberely) of Sheridan, WY, Twila Aslesen (Erik) of Detroit Lakes, MN and Cindy Ostgarden (Arnold) of Detroit Lakes, MN; his siblings, Vernon Maurer of Denver, CO and Erva Bartlett of Jamestown, ND; and his brother-in-law Ray Johnson of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
