We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2021, at the age of 89, Clara Ries (Detroit Lakes, Minnesota), born in New Ulm, Minnesota passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Clara Ries to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph F. Pivonka and Rose Pivonka (Virt); her daughter Jane Radermacher; her siblings, Anna Kieper (Elmer), Teresa Nelson (Marvin), Helen Campbell (Malcolm) and Joseph; and her son-in-law John Pearson.

She is survived by: her former spouse Mauritius Ries; her husband Maury of Detroit Lakes; her children, John (Catherine) of Shoreview, William (Julie) of Sleepy Eye, Susan Ristvedt (Wayne) of Alexandria, Catherine Seaberg (Russell) of Detroit Lakes and Julie Pearson of Detroit Lakes; and her sister-in-law Donna Pivonka of Rochester. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to: Oak Crossing TCU or Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, both located in Detroit Lakes, MN.

“Sorry for the loss of your mother. Many good memories of being neighbors on Highland in New Ulm. Clara made the best chocolate chip cookies! Then she treated us to popcorn at the Wizard of Oz tv night. I could go on.... She was a great lady who surely be missed. Hugs to you all. Barb (Dietz) Hart”
