He is survived by: his wife Leanda Johnson; his children, Glen (Deb) of Alexandria, MN, Dane of Detroit Lakes, MN, Terry Lea Mastel (Terry J.) of Mandan, ND and Nancy Sornsin (Jeff) of Fargo, ND.; his grandchildren, Chris Mastel (Kim), Andrew Mastel, Lindsey Eidsness (Aaron), Daniel Mastel, Kaylea Menon (Sid), Lydia Golis (Mike), Anna Heidelberger (Kris), Gretchen Magnuson (Luke), Emily Deetz (Ben) and Ashley Sornsin; his great grandchildren, Blake, Krue, Hudson Heidelberger, Haven Magnuson, Tyler, Levi, Eden Mastel, Oaklee Mastel, Clara, Graham Eidsness, Franklin and Eve Golis; his siblings, Arlene Holst and Arvet; and his sister-in-law Vlasta Brase.
