He was predeceased by: his parents, James Brust and Sadie Brust (Enobo); and his brothers, Gary Brust, Bob Brust and Jim Brust, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Maack-Brust; his sister Barbara Dougherty (Jay); his stepchildren, Jon Brandenburg (Nicki) and Sarah Schumacher (Andy); his grandchildren, Stephanie Pollock, Brieanna Pollock and Brandon Hokkanen; and his former wife Becky Pollock (Brust).
