He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Cartwright and Lillian Cartwright (Grossell); his brothers, Larry and Robert; and his granddaughter Jennifer.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Williams; his children, Gary (Brenda), Dale and Lisa Stangler (Nick); his grandchildren, Nicole Wendorff (Justin), Sarah Stangler and David Stangler; his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Maddie and Carley Wendorff; and his sister Florence Gibbs.
