He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Jurvelin and Olga Jurvelin. He is survived by: his wife Fern Jurvelin; his children, Steve Jurvelin (Krystine), Gary Jurvelin and Julie Jurvelin; and his grandchildren, Jenna Jurvelin, Cyle Jurvelin, Benny Jurvelin, Daniel Martin, Kaity Martin and Henry Jurvelin.

After his forced retirement during Covid, Dick stayed busy at home with odd jobs, mowing, taking walks and spending quality time with his family.

Memorials will be directed to the Deer River Lions Club Swimming Program.
