He was predeceased by: his parents, Chuck Furey and Emoline Furey; and his son Mike Furey. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Forney; his son Joe Furey (Jess); his sister Ruth "Annie" Grandy (Jack); his grandchildren, Nicole Wirhanowicz (Joe), Kyle Furey (Jeanna), Rochelle Lewis (Justin), Kristi Furey and Amanda Furey; and his great grandchildren, Devin, Natalie, Kendall, Keira, Layla, Eva, Abryana, Nick and Bohdi.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carroll Funeral Home (314 Main Ave E, Deer River, MN 56636). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church (320 Golf Course Ln, Bigfork, MN 56628). A procession was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Evergreen Knoll Cemetery. The military honors was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church (320 Golf Course Ln, Bigfork, MN 56628).
