It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Anton Jonas of Deer River, Minnesota, who passed away on July 17, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nestor Jonas and Alina Jonas (Wierima); his siblings, Nestor, Mary Ann and Arlene; and his stepson Erwin Makinen.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Makinen (Schwartz) of Park Rapids; his stepchildren, Amanda Farlee (Butch) of Park Rapids, Ken Makinen of Park Rapids and Wayne Makinen (Philomena); and his sisters, Ellen Schmid of Kansas City, KS, Ruth Aragon (Albert) of Denver, CO and Dorothy Charging Hawk of Duluth, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
His deep and solid faith in the Lord brought him much comfort throughout his life and has been his foundation through his illness.
