It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Elmer Stangland of Deer River, Minnesota, born in Spring Lake, Minnesota, who passed away on February 13, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stangland and Esther Stangland; his wife Bernice Thompson; his son Larry Stangland; his siblings, Dorothy Edlund, Lorraine Isaacson, Marie Peterson, Delmer Stangland and Gerald Stangland; and his sister-in-law Rosie Stangland.
He is survived by: his sons, Ronald Stangland of Deer River, MN and Michael Stangland (Pamela) of BigFork, MN; his daughter-in-law Cindy Stangland of Stacy, MN; and his siblings, Alice Kirn, Hazel Lambert and Kenny Stangland. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
