It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Ray Godfrey of Deer River, Minnesota, born in Boy River, Minnesota, who passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Godfrey and Irene Godfrey; and his sister Ione Sherman. He is survived by: his wife Carol Giehtbrock; his children, Matt Godfrey (Lisa), Sherri Doree (Dave) and Toni Springsteele (Daniel); his sister Darlene Marquardt (Richard); his grandchildren, Kevin, Lindsey Godfrey, Dan (Amber), Katie, Andrew Doree (Kelsey) and Emma Springsteele; and his great grandchildren, Hailey, Dominick and Arthur Doree. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
