He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Joe" Hoikka and Elsie Hoikka (Nelson); his stepfather Elmer Alajoki; his siblings, Doris, Dorothy and Leland; his son Paul; his son-in-law Toby Jablonsky; and his grandson Finley Tarnanen.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Jamison; and his children, Joel (Karyn) of Cokato, Amy Aho (Mark) of Cokato, Heidi Valli (Kari) of Cave Creek, Arizona, Jane McClintock (Jeff) of Hastings, Mark (Angie) of San Antonio, Texas, Gary (Jen) of Cokato, Carl (Tina) of St. Louis Park, Dale (Karla) of Cokato and Sara Tarnanen (Davin) of Cave Creek, Arizona. He is also survived by 80 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
