He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Pauly and Lena Pauly (Bruhn); and his siblings, Milfred Pauly, Delores Howe and LaVerne Wenzel.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Peterson; his children, Richard Pauly (Christie) of Dassel and Denise Seiberlich (Butch) of St. Cloud; his grandchildren, Nicole Seiberlich (Chelsy), Deanna Boettcher (Tyler), Joe Pauly (Becca), Grace Kaczmarek (Mitch) and Tom Pauly (Claire); and his great grandchildren, Alex, Taitum and Danica. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
