It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Susan McCoy of Darwin, Minnesota, born in Paynesville, Minnesota, who passed away on October 6, 2020, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joan Riley and Val Riley; and her parents-in-law, Rose and Mac McCoy. She is survived by: her husband Larry McCoy; her children, Jamie Van Loenhout (Jon-Paul) and Riley James McCoy (Sara); her granddaughters, Willah Rose and Valentina; and her siblings, Cindy Froehling, Jan Noll (Jerry), Kim Gabrelcik (Kevin) and Mike Riley (Sue).

Donations made in Sue McCoy's honor can be made to I.S.D. #465 where the funds will be distributed to programs for children with special needs and Community Ed scholarships for local children.

“I met Sue and Larry right before they married and had the pleasure of spending time with them as a family. Years later my husband and I made a trip out to see them in MN and it is still something we talk about to this day. Sue was a warrior. She was literally the first person I had ever known who stood up against cancer and she did it at a very young age. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. We send our deepest sympathies.”
