He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Smith and Mary Theuringer; and his wife Peggy. He is survived by: his children, Kyle Smith of Melbourne, FL, Anne Wiggert (Lance) of Hutchinson, MN and Michelle Larson (Steve Nelson) of Litchfield, MN; and his sister Holly Seaver of Columbia, MO.. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
