He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Nere and Amelia Nere (Weigel); his wife Anne; and his brothers, LuVerne, Gerhardt and Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Bradley Nere (Darlene) of Danube, Kathleen Carlson (Tim) of Perham, Russell Nere (LuAnn) of Danube and Julianne Amundson (Lowell) of Morris; his grandchildren, Christopher Nere (Nicole), Elizabeth VanOverbeke (Kyle), Ellen Kuemper (Adam), Joseph Carlson (Charissa), Rachel Sippel (Eric), Kristen Einertson (Christian), Andrew Nere (Kate), Jeremy Nere (Jaimie), Megan Rehbein (Collin), Kelsey Amundson (Phill), Holly Kirkeide (Tanner) and Sean Amundson (Whitney); and his great grandchildren, Caelum, Everett, Eden, Aurelia, Rowan, Benjamin, Luke, Samuel, Jonathan, Alice, David, Harrison, Levi, Peter, Ava, Baby Sippel, Theodore, Mary, Baby Einertson, Nolan, Emma, Evelyn, Hazel, Amelia, Rosalie, Jameson, Baby Kirkeide and Blair. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church (306 4th St, Danube, MN 56230). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
