He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rovang and Mary Rovang (Johnson); his granddaughter Jennifer Rovang; and his brother Allen. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Connell; his children, Paul Rovang (Candy) of Edinboro, PA, Daniel Rovang (Carrie) of Fergus Falls, Joel Rovang (Tuyet) of Dalton, Diane Thurman (Jimmy) of Minneapolis and Jane Doane (Thomas) of Ham Lake, MN; his grandchildren, Angelle, Ben, Cara, Justin, Deirdre, Vivian and Ariel; and his parents-in-law, Betty Rovang, Stan Connell (Martha), Gary Connell (Kristin) and Linda Field (Gene). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
