He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Zimny and Agnes Zimny (Woitas); his son-in-law Nathan Lindstrom; his grandson Brennan Zimny; and his siblings, Isadore Zimny (Jean), Sister Agnes Marie Zimny, Dorothy O'Connell (Basil), Raymond Zimny, Ralph Zimny and Mary Louise Growe.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Zimny of Cyrus; his children, Greg Zimny (Joanna) of Mounds View, Bruce Zimny of Salem, OR, Wayne Zimny (Heather) of Hayti, SD, Ann Zimny (Ernie Johnson) of Fargo, ND and Karen Lindstrom of Ramsey; his grandchildren, Sean Zimny, Thorn Stands, Lauren Zimny, Brianna Zimny, Jaden Zimny, Coretta Nelson, Grace Lindstrom, Hazel Lindstrom, Hayden Zimny and Holland Zimny; and his sister-in-law Rosemary Gittins of Orono. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
