With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joanne Lorraine Carter of Currie, Minnesota, born in Tracy, Minnesota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Louis and Ruth Johnson Prouty; and her siblings, Jim Prouty (Kay), Pat Peltola and Allen Prouty.
She is survived by: her husband Wayne Carter of Currie, MN.; her sons, Tom Carter of Seattle, WA and Steve Carter (Amy) of Gig Harbor, WA.; her grandchildren, Jane Carter (Phil Babcock) and Ben Carter; her great grandchildren, Wheeler Thomas Babcock and Cora Joanne Babcock; her siblings, Art Prouty (Sue) of Burnsville, MN and Lezlee Prouty of Sioux Falls, SD.; and her brother-in-law Chuck Peltola (Kanani) of Currie, MN.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Totzke Funeral Home (2100 Broadway Ave, Slayton, MN 56172). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (200 Emory St, Tracy, MN 56175).
