It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lyle Wilbur Nichols of Crosslake, Minnesota, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Lyle shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Lyle farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Nichols and Eleanor Nichols (Hodges); his son Gary Nichols; and his siblings, Elmer, Marne Nichols, Iola Olson and Nellie Nichols.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Nichols (Sue Kalleberg-Stevens) of Baxter and Cindy Dorr (Bryan Bidinger) of Bemidji; and his siblings, Ken Nichols (Patricia) of Ironton and Joy Van Dorn of Washington. He is also survived by six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Koop Funeral Home (32 E Main St, Crosby, MN 56441). A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery (15550 MN-115, Little Falls, MN 56345).
