He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Kopplin and Margaret Kopplin; and his brother-in-law Charlie Olson. He is survived by: his daughter Becky; his wife Vicki Kopplin; his children, Lise Choate (Mike) of Santa Clarita, CA, Rebecca Beyer (Karl) of Lakeville, MN and Erik Kopplin (Chrissy) of Bayport, NY; his grandchildren, Blake, Kayla Choate, Jameson, Kevin, Madelyn, Ethan Beyer, Conrad and Jagger Kopplin; his siblings, Darrell Kopplin (Anne) and Judy Olson; his siblings-in-law, Gretchen Henrikson (Gordon), Jay Smith (Susan) and Todd Smith (Nancy); and his aunt Ruth Lemon. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
