He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Schlichting and Adeline Schlichting (Saulter); his brothers, Larry and Robert; and his grandson Jacob Steuernagel.
He is survived by: his wife Janel Schlichting (Tholkes); his daughters, Deanna Steuernagel (Shawn Burke, Sr.) and Amy Spindler (Kent); his close friend Neko; and his siblings, Jeannie Cottew (Larry), Jim Schlichting (Sue), Lorraine Benson (Frank), Paul Schlichting (Diane), Katie Eckman (Dave) and Julie Brill. He is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
