He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Rono and Hilda Rono Sr. (Randall); his son Lester Rono Jr.; and his siblings, Oscar Jr. "Babe", David, Larry, Roger, Albert, Tony Rono, Alice Simmonds, Caroline Warren and Nancy Perez.
He is survived by: his daughter Kaye Boyd (Robert) of Baxter; his daughter-in-law Heidi Lundgren of Crosby; his close friend Joan Martin of Brainerd; and his siblings, Harold Rono of Crosby and Linda Saltzman. He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
