He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Vandervort and Esther Vandervort (Qualley). He is survived by: his sisters, Sandra Vandervort and Joan Lindquist. He is also survived by several other family members and friends.
He would go to dances in East Grand Forks and found a whole community near Phoenix, Arizona, where he could be found during the Minnesota winters, and did this until the Covid pandemic. Wayne still made his way to Arizona during the pandemic but missed dancing greatly during this time.
