He is survived by: his wife Arlene Mulcahy Oakes; his children, Connie (Harry Helenihi), Vickie (Joe Lovecchio), Rick (Lynn Oakes), Pennie (Jim Salveson), Randy Oakes of Rochester, MN and Larry Johnson of Crookston; and his great grandchildren, Kolton Crocker, Keaton, Ava Oakes, Kaylynn, Helainna Bartrum, Lucas, Owen, Caleb Salveson, Hayden and Ariella Jones.
