He was predeceased by: his wife Erna; his parents, Leonard and Clara; his son Ted; his siblings, Orland (Eyvonne), Dean, Patricia Bode (Wallace) and John Thorson (Marlys); and his brother-in-law Walter Schulz (Kathleen).
He is survived by: his children, Gerold (Janice) of Eagle Bend, Ray (Vicki) of Dilworth, Julie Hoyle (Charles) and Diane of New Ulm; his daughter-in-law Carol Thorson of Courtland; his sister-in-law Betty Thorson; and also, Resa Harris, Kelly Jensen, Stephanie Keech, Amanda Schoon, Kurt Thorson, Brian Thorson, Richard Thorson, Michael Wenner, Stephen Wenner, Joseph Wenner and Joshua Crider. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends.
