He was predeceased by: his siblings-in-law, Rita Herlick and Tom Bode; and his parents, Ernest Mielke and Cornelia Mielke (Bode). He is survived by: his wife Donna Herlick; his children, Christina Marth (Jason) of Courtland and Jon Mielke (Erin) of Courtland; his grandchildren, Riley Marth (Olivia) of Mankato, Spencer Marth of Mankato and Olivia Marth of Courtland; his siblings, Janet Malmberg (Ken) of Oakdale, Ronda Robinson (Gary) of Daytona Beach, FL, Robert Mielke (Shirley) of New Ulm and James Mielke (Patricia) of Onalaska, WI; his mother-in-law Lois Bode; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Herlick of Duluth, Ruth Hansen (Mark) of New Ulm, JoAnn Bode of Mankato and James Herlick (Kelly) of Grand Island, NE.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to New Ulm Allina Health Cancer institute, the Sleepy Eye Care Center or Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Courtland.
