He was predeceased by: his brother Bob; and his granddaughter Maren Engebretson Dahlke. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Samec Nielsen; his sister Mary Nielsen; and his children, Bob (Sara), Tom (Mary), Renee Engebretson (Jim), Dick (Dale), Ann Hilt (Tom) and James (Diane). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
