He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. and Abigail. He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Mike (Melba), Rochelle (Ken), Jay (Kari), Angella (Philip) and Daniel; his stepsons, Shawn, Ross (Meredith) and Wade (Jennifer); and his sisters, Elizabeth Lascewski and Myra Childs. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
