He is survived by: his children, Dawn Ludwig (Darcy), Dean Bode (Connie), Dwight Bode (Sue) and Denise Depies (Greg); his grandchildren, Nic Ludwig (Ani), Bryan Ludwig (Sarah), Melissa Dehmer (Dixon), Randy Bode, Ryan Bode (Katie Hertel), Erin Bode, Sydney Depies and Katelyn Depies; his great grandchildren, Bennett, Felix, Norah and Brayden Ludwig; and his brother David Bode.

“I'm so sorry this is months late but I wanted to express my sympathy to Dan's family. My mom lives in Norris, same as Dan, and almost every time I went to visit mom I would see Dan. He always had a big smile and wave and always asked how I was doing. When I would ask him the same he would say fine, just fine. I had no idea he was ill, he was so positive all the time, and I couldn't see past the big smiles and waves. I'm glad he is now with your mom - rest in peace, Dan.”
