He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lloyd Goodwin and Marion Goodwin (Will); his significant other JoAnn McIsaac; his siblings, Don (Arlene), Ellen (Scott), Gene (June), Marilyn (Kent) and Dan (Shirley); his children, Scott (Donita) and Dianne (Tracie); his grandchildren, Todd (Michelle), Rich (Carrie) and Dawn (Chad); his great grandchildren, Makayla, Zakary, Kaylee, Layne, Lylli, Mickey, Olivia and Vivian; his granddaughter Cori; and also, Scott and Dianne.

In times of the Covid pandemic, Walter continued to attend church on Zoom, never missing an opportunity to connect with his beloved community.
