He was predeceased by: his grandmother Rebecca; his parents, Kenneth and Wilma; and his siblings, Bennie, Rusty, Richard, Kenny Jr., Eileen and Dolly.

He is survived by: his partner Shirley Denzer; his children, Leona Peterson, Jessica Carlson, Tina Denzer, Reyann Cottrell and Steven Hemsworth (Mary); and his siblings, Russell (Maria), Carol (Leon), Dorothy, Gloria and Mike (Donna). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren.
