Monte is survived by: wife Nancy Mahowald; children, Scott Mahowald (Sophia) and Kirsten Comfort (Jeff); grandchildren, Jodi Mahowald, Thomas Mahowald, Isaiah Comfort, Connor Comfort and Arianna Comfort; brother Gregory Mahowald (Mary); and pets, Chevy and Crickett.
