He was predeceased by: his son Curtis Banta; his brothers, Jim Banta and Dennis Burke; his significant other Judith Barthold; and his brother-in-law Duane Musseman.

He is survived by: his children, Jan Lincoln (Steve), Diane Acevedo, Renee Banta and Mark Banta; and his siblings, Mary Lou Musseman, Darlene Burdick (Bruce), Cherland, Don Banta (Sandy), Joey Banta and Peggy Banta. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorials requested to a local VFW, American Legion or Veteran organization of donor's choice.
