He was predeceased by: his sister Dianne Lanerd; and his former wife Karen Lanerd. He is survived by: his wife Penny Lanerd; his children, Tammy Lanerd-Hatton (Marty), Joe Patten, Jim Lanerd Jr. (Heather), Kimberly Anderson (Neil) and Brent Gilbertson (Linda); and his brother Larry Lanerd. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
