He was predeceased by: his parents, Elaine Merkl and John Merkl; his brother Jerry; and his stepson Richard. He is survived by: his wife Diana; his siblings, Bob (Mary Jo), Catherine Herberg (Scott), John (Evonne), Mary Anderson (Mark), Jeanne, Ray (Sue), Paul (Marcy), Julie Stone (Tom) and Tom (Mark); his children, Ted, Jennifer (Travis), Chris (Jesseca), Sarah (TJ) and Luke; his stepdaughter Jacquelyn (Dustin); his grandchildren, Derek (Kelsey), Krystal, Daesha (Chase), Téa (Dylan), Brianna, Jimmy and Wyatt; and his great grandchildren, Gracesyn, Asher and Aria.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joan of Arc Church (4537 3rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419).
In lieu of flowers & plants, memorials are preferred.
