He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Kathryn Day; his parents, Frank Carlson and Mabel Carlson; and his adoptive parents, Eugene Day and Carrie Day.

He is survived by: his children, Lisa Bies (Martin) and Arthur Day (Christine); his grandchildren, Jackie Ellsworth (TJ), Jacob, Erik, Catherine Bakeoven (Chris) and Hannah; and his great grandchildren, Abel and Samuel Ellsworth.
