It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melba Toivonan (Cook, Minnesota), who passed away on November 27, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Andy Laine of Myrtle Lake; her husband Karl Toivonen of Orr; her siblings, Alvina Rooney, Edna Anderson, Gilmer and Albert Anderson; her sons, Thomas and Charles Toivonen; and her nieces and nephews, Ernie Lund, Gerald Anderson, Elaine McGunnigle and Margaret Narum.
She is survived by: her children, Andy Laine of Oregon, Karen Halliday of Bloomington, Tessie Lempke of Bloomington and Glenda Brekke of Mora; and her nieces, Joanne Stewart of Homosassa, Fla. and Beverley Johnson of Minneapolis. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends.
