He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Kennedy and Carrie Kennedy (Ausgaard); his wife Lillian Kennedy; and his children, Robert Dale Kennedy and Diane Rae Kennedy.

He is survived by: his children, Don Kennedy (Carol), Donna Brown, Beverly Nelson (Craig) of Angora, MN, Bruce Kennedy and David Kennedy Jr. (Julie); his siblings, Doris Seline, Gordon Kennedy and Byron Kennedy; and his grandchildren, Melinda Johnson, Monica Owens, Gary Milton (Amy), Nicholas Kennedy, Christopher Kennedy, Dylan Kennedy, Chad Kennedy, Darby Kennedy, Darcy Kennedy, Tara Ashley, Tadd Nelson and Hannah Moes. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
